With a remarkable career both as a player and a coach, Coach Walter Johnson has built a legacy of excellence on the basketball court. A distinguished former professional player, Coach Johnson has competed in notable leagues including the Chicago Ballers (PBL), Chicago Legends (MBL), Chicago Hornets (OBA), and Windy City Mustangs (ABA). 

Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Coach Johnson has led his teams to impressive victories and numerous championships. Under his leadership, the Horizon Southwest program has enjoyed a series of triumphs, including winning the Glen Barton Showcase Championship (2019-2020), the Divisional Championship (2020-2021 and 2023-2024), the conference championship (2020-2021 and 2023-2024), and the Chicago Public League Championship (2021-2022 and 2023-2024). 

At St. Francis De Sales, Coach Johnson guided his team to a Regional Championship (2022-2023), a Sectional Championship (2022-2023), and an Elite 8 appearance (2022-2023), further demonstrating his strategic acumen and ability to develop talent.

With a proven track record of success, Coach Johnson continues to inspire and drive his teams toward excellence, embodying a commitment to the game and passion for fostering athletic and personal growth.
